UPDATE: I plan to run the audio-out to a FM transmitter and connect receivers to all the audio devices in the house, one the motion detection is online I will have the audio follow me around the house, this is a VERY low cost method and also does not require me running cabled throughout the house, AirTunes stations are a upgrade path but will see how my budget pans out.

UPDATE: I picked up a cm12U from Ebay for £27 so can get started on the macros and web interface.

The plan is to have full voice control over the house, I am still up to my waist in code trying to meld a few different system together to get what I want, so far I am using MisterHouse as the base system, it is written in perl so adding modules is a snap (cpan, install Bundle::Xmms. etc) the voice recognition is a mix of ViaVoice and PocketSphinx until I have finished updating the vocab libarys. For music and video playback I am using Winamp(WINE), Xmms(1) and am trying to get the native ubuntu player to work. For video I am using MythTV but am going to have a play with Boxee and MediaTomb but this will most likely have to be controlled as a 2nd system integrated with the first.
